Studies have proven that by this year (2010) that:
* fifty % of kids within the United States can be overweight.
* 30 % of those children eat fast food regularly.
*Childhood obesity ends up in major health problems later in life, such as diabetes, heart disease, joint problems.
There's hope. You'll learn how to win against childhood obesity by simply learning your role in prevention.
Facilitate your child eat better.
This can be sometimes a arduous task to undertake due to our busy lifestyles.
But easy little steps can and will create a difference.
1. At snack time make it a bit more healthy for them, don't let them have just the junk food. Create them a little platter instead. Use a few chips, orange slices, grapes, raisins, nuts and perhaps some celery stalks with peanut butter on them.
Notice you did not remove all the unhealthy food. There's a reason for this and it is simply that if you're taking away all the bad foods directly, your child can rebel. They can sneak the dangerous food, and more of it, defeating your objective of getting them to eat better.
2. At time for supper build a vegetable, a completely different vegetable, offer them a two bite serving. That is all they need to eat unless they want more. You may find out what vegetables your kid likes and dislikes. Creating it potential for you to serve a lot of of what they like.
3. Exercise is a leading key to preventing childhood obesity. Your role in prevention is to urge them to try to to it while not them knowing it. The manner to accomplish this can be through fun.
