Electric tea kettles can easily be cleaned using white vinegar, just like a coffee maker. Wash the kettle; rinse it and add a solution of half vinegar, half water.

Electric tea kettles are a popular brand of electric kettles across the world. They are great at brewing perfect, tasty cups of tea. But this good taste can only be sustained if you take care of the kettle and it clean at all times. The build up of tannic acid or lime deposits changes the taste of tea to a not-so-pleasant one. You must therefore keep the kettle impeccably clean always.

Many electric tea kettles have special cleaners specifically designed to clean them. When you buy your kettle, you get a sample of this cleaner. You can then order more of it through the manufacturer’s website anytime you need to replenish. But that’s not the only way to keep your kettle clean. There are other ways to do so without incurring extra expenses.

Electric tea kettles can easily be cleaned using white vinegar, just like a coffee maker. Wash the kettle; rinse it and add a solution of half vinegar, half water. Replace the filter and run the kettle through the normal cycle, with the vinegar mixture still on. When it’s done, empty the mixture, fill it with plain water and run it through a full cycle once more. Your kettle is now ready to make a pot of fresh tea.

Use white vinegar still to polish the kettle exterior to a shine. If it has food stains, grease or spills, scrub using vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice paste. Consider the material the kettle is made of because some materials can scratch when you use harsh powders and cleansers. A good example is stainless steel. For these, always check what the manufacturer recommends.

This thorough cleaning using vinegar solution can be done once a month. For regular cleaning, rinse your tea kettle after every use and give it a thorough washing every week. Keep the exterior clean by wiping gently with a damp sponge or rag.

With proper care and cleaning, your electric kettle will last many years without losing the magic taste it gives tea.
