Lyme disease is an infection you don't want to have. You should immediately get yourself treated once you are diagnosed with it. Detecting its early signs and symptoms are the key to a fast recovery. Read this article for a more detailed explanation on its early signs and symptoms.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection, transmitted by ticks when they bite a human or animal. Ticks take a bacterium with them, which they spread and pass on to anyone they have been feeding on.

These ticks exist in great numbers in areas, which are grassy and densely wooden. Thus, people who reside here have greater chances of being bitten by them and acquiring the disease, which is why they should be even more careful and should take precautions on time.

If the disease is controlled from the early stages, the likelihood of the patient recovering completely increases largely. However, if there has been a delay in providing treatment, the response rate of the person might become a bit slow, although complete cure would still be possible.

Lyme disease may affect different body parts of every individual, which is why its symptoms are also different from one person to another. Some of the general symptoms that are usually experienced by people consist of the following:

The first sign that would appear on the person's skin would be a rash. It may show up either in a couple of days or one month. With the passage of a few more days, the small red bump may either turn into the size of a fingertip or reach twelve inches. Around 70-80 percent of people who are suffering from Lyme disease experience these rashes. This is why this symptom is known as the trademark of Lyme disease.

People who are sensitive to the tick's saliva will experience a different form of rash than the erythema migran described above. For them, the rash may start taking place and the redness of the skin would begin just when the tick would bite. These rashes may take a few weeks to fade completely, without expanding and getting worst.

A number of other symptoms associated with Lyme disease are flu like fever that also brings along chills, headache, body ache and fatigue. A few less common symptoms that just a few people may go through are irregular heartbeats and other heart problems, severe fatigue and hepatitis.
