Shaklee, the nation's number one natural nutrition company, has received critical acclaim from scientists, pharmacists, Oprah Winfrey, top athletes, consumers and distributors. Despite this, Shaklee's reputation is not as glistening as it should be. Shaklee has been called a fraud, and has been accused of scamming consumers. Is Shaklee a scam, or a genuine business opportunity?

Like nearly all network marketing companies, Shaklee is considered a scam by many outsiders not involved in MLM. If you are not directly involved in MLM companies, then it can be difficult to see the legitimacy of the company. What many outsiders experience is their friends and family investing large sums of money and long hours trying to make their Shaklee business a success. But sadly, they fail. Their business crumbles, and they are left with nothing. They immediately jump to this conclusion: Shaklee is a scam.

The harsh reality is that 95% of people who decide to be a network marketing distributor fail- it is not a problem restricted to Shaklee. It's true that not everyone will be successful with Shaklee, and that many distributors will fail, but does this make it a scam? The Small Business Administration revealed that 80% of all new businesses fail within the first year. So if you started your own grocery store, invested thousands of dollars and spent 100 hours a week to make it a success, there's an 80% chance you will fail. But no one would consider this to be a scam. Although the fail rate is slightly higher with Shaklee, the same principle applies. Shaklee is a legitimate business opportunity, and is not a scam.

Shaklee has been in business since 1956 and have a longstanding reputation. It is extremely likely that if Shaklee was a scam, then something would have been done in the past 54 years to put an end to it. Pyramid schemes, which do scam consumers, are regularly closed down for fraudulent activity. Shaklee would not be allowed to trade if they were a scam.
Shaklee have been praised by television magnet Oprah Winfrey. Oprah not only featured Shaklee on her popular chat show, but she also admitted to being a fan of their products. Oprah is a woman of integrity, and understands how influential she is. Oprah takes her role as an opinion leader very seriously, and there is considerable doubt that Oprah would promote a company that was a scam.
If anything, I believe Oprah would be warning consumers against Shaklee, and would certainly not be included in Oprah’s Favorite Things 2007.

So, when you sign up to Shaklee, are you falling for another scam? Not in the slightest. The business development aspect presents a genuine business opportunity and there is real potential to earn large sums of money. Shaklee is a crystal clear, legitimate company. Rest assured, with Shaklee, you are not falling for another scam.
