Learning how to take care of a child cannot be learned overnight. However, mothers from all over the world have come together to share all the secrets to becoming a good parent. Read this article now if you want to become an effective parent to your child.
Most people consider giving birth to be a difficult task, but once they have passed the stage, what comes next has to be the most challenging. If you are a parent, it is vital for you to be aware of the parenting styles and techniques that you should adopt, in order to promote your child's well being.

One of the many things that contribute in keeping your kid's life a happy one is to provide great encouragement in every aspect of life. You may not think twice after giving your child a warm smile or ruffling his hair, but that may give a boost to his self-esteem. You should always reassure your child that he or she could do wonders in life, if  or she attempts at it. Praise them and shower them with little gifts in the form of positive reinforcement.

If they have done a good deed, such as feeding a hungry cat, make them realize that what they have done is a great thing. Even if you are allergic to cats, don’t make an issue about why they fed it and created a mess in the house, as this would discourage them from doing such a good deed again. Never label them as being incompetent or useless even if they do something terrible. That would just increase the probability of that behavior being repeated.

Various social psychologists are of the view that children look at their parents and imitate their behaviors and actions. This is also commonly observed when they try wearing their parent's clothes or repeat the same words.

Your children consider you to be their role model, and they are of the view that whatever you do is the right thing to be done. If you want them to have good traits and habits, the best step is to set an example first by practicing the same. Be nice to your spouse and people around you, refrain from foul language, and be kind and generous to everybody – your child will follow in your footsteps.

Give sufficient time to your children, especially during their growing years. This is the time when they want you to be there with them, so that they can share every little thing that happens in school, or on the field. Be there to listen to their stories, and share yours. This will greatly help in the formation of a close and strong bond that would last for a lifetime. Take them on picnics and to the circus or puppet shows, and spend quality time with them.

Love your child and be affectionate towards him or her. This will make them feel the luckiest person on earth.
