This PDA has a large number of followers mainly due to it's unique screen and graphic abilities. There are also a few critics that say other things. Read on to get the full story.
Many people consider the HP iPAQ HX4705 Pocket PC to be a truly unique PDA. This is no wonder as the most notable feature about this PDA is it's relatively big screen of 4 inches. It's also equipped with a high speed processor (624 MHz)and a big memory capacity (192MB). But is this pocket pc really the best choice for everyone? Clearly not, as every person has his or her own needs. Let's have a closer look at the benefits this outstanding PDA can give us, as well as it's shortcomings:

1.The huge, 4" Transflective type VGA TFT color, 64K colors screen. This VGA 64K color display allows better and easier viewing of documents, images, and web pages. This may take the strain off your eyes, when you deal with cluttered documents and surfing the web. So ff you do a lot of PDA web surfing and the like you will benefit from this screen. So, what's the catch here? Simply be very careful with the screen. This screen is delicate and has been reported to be easily breakable. The warranty will not save you every time, because the technician may claim that you were careless, thus causing the screen to break. A good idea is to put this PDA into a protective case and keep it there at all times. Simply remember that the screen, as great as it may be, is also the weakest link in this PDA, so treat it accordingly.

2.The Removable / rechargeable 1800 mAh Lithium-lon battery gives this PDA more working hours. The screen draws a considerable amount of energy for the battery, so this extra power is essential. This battery will easily give you 4 days without having to recharge, if you do little use of the PDA during that time.

3.The powerful 624 MHz Intel Bulverde technology-based processor, and the 128 MB ROM and 64 MB SDRAM are making the PDA extremely fast. Some users claim this PDA beats their notebook computers in terms of speed. This raises the ultimate question of PDA vs. Notebook computer - which is preferred. This is something only you can answer according to your own needs.

4.The speed of the processor makes more things possible. For example, You can set up a video call ability and enjoy the big screen while you make video calls with other people. This is done by visiting a streamphone site and opening an account (you can find one by searching Google.com). You will be installing a streamphone on your PDA and a video cam will be sent to your house. You can than have live web cam calls with other users, while sitting in the local Starbucks connecting to the local hot-spot.

5.Like and big screen device, this one is more expensive than others. For $400, many people will tend to upgrade for a notebook computer instead of a pocket PC. As always, quality has it's own price tag for people who are willing to pay it.

So we've looked at a few of the good and bad elements that come with the HP iPAQ HX4705 Pocket PC. For $400, you get a lot of value, no question about it. But is it worth it to go for a PDA instead of a notebook computer or an Ultra Mobile PC? That's for you to decide.
