Kids love winter season. As much as we love them to play with snow and have fun with the cold weather, us parents should always prioritize their health and safety. Learn tips on how to keep your child cozy, warm and safe during winter.
Kids love winter. For them, it’s that time of the year when school’s out often and they can have snowball fights and build snowmen outside.

However, there are a lot of health hazards to consider. Here are some of the things you can do to keep your child safe during the cold winter months.

Dressing in Layers

Dressing your child in many layers is one way to keep him/her warm during the cold season. For the upper half dress your child in a long-sleeved undershirt. It could be woolen or thermal. Then put on a turtleneck or two shirts, plus a sweater or a coat. Pick clothes that are not made from cotton because it does not help keep your child very warm.

For the bottom half, dress your child in his/her long underwear (thermal or woolen), then put on a pair of heavy pants. Waterproof pant, like ski pants for instance, are the best.

To finish your child’s winter ensemble, put on heavy socks and waterproof boots. If you’re going to roam around, choose boots that have good treads to prevent slipping on icy areas. Don’t forget to put on a hat, plus scarves, earmuffs and mittens or gloves.

Wash with Organic Products

It is important that each article of clothing on your child is clean. In this way, they won’t get sick easily. Winter is the time for colds, flu and other illnesses. Do not make it easier for germs to get into your kid’s body by properly cleaning each clothing. And the best way to do that is by using organic cleaning products.

Organic cleaning products are proven to be just as effective, if not better, than leading brands in the market today. But, the advantage of using this is the fact that they do not contain any harmful chemicals in them making them safe for baby’s sensitive skin.
