How do some project managers seem whiz through boring project management documentation?

How do some project managers seem to document things in impossible time frames?

Sure, experience pays a big part, but there must be some sort of secret because not everyone can pump out collateral that fast.

Did you know there is a secret technique that you can use to remember what to do next in a project and appear to create complicated documents in record time.

The Project Managers kit bag
Experienced PM’s carry around what I call a “kit bag”. What’s a kit bag then?

A kit bag is another term for a digital collection of project management material such as templates, spreadsheets, planners and gannt charts.

A kit bag is usually stored on a USB thumb drive and built up over time based on years of project management experience.

The Most Powerful Part Of Your Kit Bag
As you can imagine, I’ve found that the most powerful component of my kit bag is my project management templates

A set of templates that cover every phase of the project life cycle is one of the most powerful things I have in kit bag.

Why? Here are just a few reasons:
• The serve as a reference to help me remember what comes next in a project phase
• They help me build up an organizations collateral if they don’t have any  • They allow me to create project documents in half the time, with the right content
• Help me to help others on the project work faster and more efficiently

Why You Should Build Yours Now
You’ve probably worked out the power you could yield with your own personal kit bag. Every time you use a template, chart, or create some project collateral make sure you keep a copy. If possible ask another project manager to share their kit bag, buy templates online if you want, you can never have enough collateral in your kit bag.

Start building your kit bag now by using project management templates to build the ultimate project management kit bag!
