A new Motor Vehicle Door Safety Study has identified Lambo Doors as potentially life saving aftermarket automotive upgrades.
An American truck part retailer has launched a new study aimed at saving lives by reducing the number of standard truck door related deaths as well as other problems associated with standard vehicle doors as part of a new Motor Vehicle Door Safety Study. The study has compiled a list of common risks associated with standard truck doors that contribute significantly to property damage, injuries, and even death. Risk identification is just step one of a three part process that will analyze these risks, categorize their severity, and eliminate them with better technology.
The study has identified six main categories of risk resulting from the horizontal opening direction of standard truck doors and document the impact of these risks on bicyclists, other vehicles, and pedestrians. The study has found that bicyclists are harmed the most by truck doors opening into their path unexpectedly causing a large number of bike to door collisions resulting in serious injuries as well as collisions with other vehicles resulting in more serious injuries and several deaths. The latter typically involves a bicyclist swerving unexpectedly into traffic to avoid the door or being knocked into traffic by the door. Pedestrians have also suffered although far less so with joggers bearing the brunt of reckless door openings due to their speed. Property is constantly put at risk due to careless people opening their doors into other trucks either parked or in traffic resulting in door dents for the former and door destruction for the latter. On top of all this people with standard doors are know for hitting trees, fire hydrants, and other stationary objects typically damaging their own doors more than the objects.
The study provides clear demonstrations of the risks above documented using real world examples from streaming video sites as well as entertaining examples from Hollywood movies and television shows. The risk identification phase was designed primarily to visually illustrate the risks while the next phase will analyze each one to determine which dangers of standard truck doors are the most dangerous. This will involve determining dollar amounts related to accidents including legal fees, repairs, and insurance as well as medical bills and the human cost of deadly incidents. Once the the risks are completely analyzed better technology will most likely be recommended for safety conscious motorists ready to go the extra mile for door accident prevention. The leading candidate for change so far appears to be aftermarket vertical door systems with
Lambo Door Hinges that make it almost impossible to door a biker, ding a parked car, hit a tree, or cause any other damage dependent on the horizontal engineering of conventional truck doors by being designed designed to open at a forward vertical angle.
When the
Truck Door Safety Study is concluded LamboDoorKing.com hopes to prove that Lambo Doors are more than just cosmetic enhancements built for custom show cars and trucks, but practical safety solutions as well. Lambo Doors already have a long history free of accidents when installed properly, but have never been marketed as a safety product despite a laundry list of problems associated with standard doors that do not exist on vehicles with Lambo Doors.
