In 2011 there is no legitimate reason that your business does not have a website other than you can not afford to create one. Here are the TOP TEN reasons why you actually can not afford to go any longer without a website.
REASON #10 – Your Competition.
Many people use the Internet to find potential suppliers
because the Internet does a great job of leveling the playing field. So a smart
competitor with limited funds can be very visible if he focuses on Search
Engine Optimization. If your company isn't in the top 30 search results when a
lead searches for your product or service, then the competitor may be the only
visible supplier. Provided that his website offers what the customer needs,
your competitor gets the business. You need a website to have any chance at
search rankings.
REASON #9 – Time.
You can not loan, borrow or save time. You can only use the
random amount you have efficiently. Search Engine rankings do not improve
overnight. Usually it will take 2 months or more to begin to get good rankings.
So the earlier you start, the better you will succeed.
REASON #8 – Websites are more effective than
ANYTHING else.
www.Dell.com generates over 25 Million Dollars a day in
sales and has done so everyday for over a decade. It is run by a team of less
than 20 people. That is what an optimized website can do; end rationalization
on the part of owners of non-optimized websites.
REASON #7 – Leads
There ARE new potential customers that you are not aware of.
They are probably trying to use the best business tools to run their business.
These are the preferred prospects that should be interest to you. These people
are very likely to look for new suppliers on the Internet. If you are not well
represented there, they may drop you off their short list of potential
suppliers.
REASON #6 – Human Nature.
A most interesting phenomenon is that the Internet has put
the potential purchaser in the driving seat. If a potential customer invites a
salesman in, then this shows some interest in potential products or services.
Checking out a website is anonymous: the supplier will probably not know the
potential customer has visited until well after the fact in most cases. The
potential purchaser can remain anonymous and maintain a negotiating advantage
as long as they wish. Many purchasers prefer this extra flexibility that
supplier websites give them because people naturally want the upper hand when
negotiating ANYTHING, including where they spend money. [NOTE - Technically the
supplier could know the domains and IP’s of those who have visited his site
from the log files of the website. The actual person who visited would not be
known. However it is very tough to use this information, since website visitors
resent their visit being "spied on".]
REASON #5 – Referrals.
Suppose one of your best customers wants to do you a favor
and tell one of his friends about your company. If you have a website, then
your customer can give clickable access to knowledge on what you offer. Without
this tool, your customer is on his own with no help from you.
REASON #4 – Returns On Investment.
A radio spot, television commercial or company brochure may
be very useful. However if you factor in the cost of producing or updating any
of these and getting the contained message to customers then the ROI of such a
sales tools are poorer than the ROI on an optimized website. Radio has a
limited audience, Television is prohibitively expensive and paper is NOT
environmentally friendly nor is it kept; which is why your waste basket if full
of the stuff right now.
REASON #3 - Reality
Your business card no longer provides enough sales or
marketing information. People need more information.
REASON #2 – You run a legitimate business.
A website is a tool that can give the best possible and most
complete image of your company to potential customers. Few will visit your
headquarters. Those who telephone your company may pick-up mixed signals as
your telephone reception system handles their call. Your advertising or your
press releases may be missed. However; on your website you can arrange for the
visitor to get exactly the impression of the company that is most appropriate.
Your site is a relatively low-cost way of making those important first
impressions.
REASON #1 – NO WEBSITE = RED FLAG.
Anyone interested in your company will be checking out your
website as part of a credibility check. If the website does not exist or gives
a poor impression of the company through typos or pages "Under
Construction", then you may not be able to recover the situation.
You should create a website today!
