They were large clumps of cement made to look like a pile of logs. There were holes drilled in to them and the flames would come up through the holes. Logs are now individual, hand painted and quite realistic. We have the classic look of log where the bottom front log is one piece. We also have the Charred Series where the front log is in two separate pieces, making it look like it’s been burned through. With the charred series you benefit from a little more heat and you also get to see more of the flames. What’s really nice with gas logs is the simple on and off operation. Imagine sitting in front of your burning fireplace when the phone rings. Someone invites you out! Your fireplace is burning so you can’t leave until it burns out. Not so with gas logs.
