We
all want an answer to a question that how much horsepower does a turbocharger
adds to the car engine? Mostly a Turbocharger boosts up the horsepower by
40-70% on a simple engine. But it is important to have a tuned engine with the
Turbocharger if you want the best performance from your car. The main function
of a Turbocharger is to boost up the power of the engine by sending compressed
air into the engine. No matter your car is new or old, many turbocharger
manufacturer companies manufacture wide range of turbochargers which can be
available for your car too.
A
turbocharger sends compressed air into the engine and this gas powers the
turbine wheel to make it rotate. The turbine wheel connected with a shaft to
the compressor wheel spins faster and faster causing the wheel to spin faster.
The compressor compresses the air before it goes into the engine and before the
densed air enters the chamber, a cold air intake system helps to keep the
temperature down before the air is entered into the combustion chamber.
With
just a basic research one can easily come to know what Turbochargers are. They
give your car a huge boost of horsepower along with a pleasing sporty sound. Since the turbocharger
increases the pressure at the point where air is entering the cylinder, a
greater mass of air (Oxygen) will be forced in as the inlet manifold pressure
increases. The additional air flow helps in maintaining the combustion chamber
pressure and air/fuel load even at high engine revolution speeds, increasing
the power and torque output of the engine.
Turbochargers
perform best when it is coupled with an ecu and a cold air intake system or we
can say the best way to win a sure shot race is to have a complete set of Turbo
kit. Turbocharger has the following components:
The turbine and impeller/compressor wheels are each contained within
their own folded conical housing on opposite sides of the third component, the centre
housing/hub rotating assembly (CHRA). So if you like loud and fast cars,
Turbochargers can turn your car in just the way you want with more sporty sound
and performance.
