It was only three years ago in February of 2008 that former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was on top of the world. His team had just won the Super Bowl after defeating the undefeated New England Patriots, and Burress had won the Super Bowl MVP award. However, three years later, Plaxico Burress isn’t even in society, let alone the NFL anymore, as the egotistical wide receiver has spent the last two years in jail for shooting himself in the leg. With Burress set to be released from prison soon and many NFL teams needing a wide receiver, here are two possible landing spots, when the league of second chances, the NFL lets Plaxico back in.

1.      New York Giants – At first glance many of you may be thinking well, Burress and the Giants ended on poor terms. While this is true, one thing that is also very true is the fact that the Giants are a completely different team when Burress is in the lineup verses when he isn’t. Take last season for instance, as it was the first full year that Burress was not on the Giants, and they appeared to be a totally different team. With Burress, Giants quarterback Eli Manning would have been able to throw to his favorite option. Without him last season, the Giants failed to make the post season and a lot of questions surround their offence heading into 2011.

2.      Cincinnati Bengals – Last season was supposed to be the year that the offense finally complimented the defense in Cincinnati. With a revamped offence made up of wide outs Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens the Bengals were supposed to finally be mentioned amongst the league’s elite. Instead they flopped and both Johnson and Owens are out. Now that disgruntled Bengals pivot Carson Palmer has no true number one wide receiver, it seems like Cincinnati would be the best team for a Plaxico Burress second chance.
