Frank Ortiz of Weitz & Luxenberg said in a statement that he was outraged by the findings published in the journal of Environmental Health Perspective (EHP), showing that almost 175,000 mesothelioma cases remain unreported in about 89 different nations.

In a statement, Ortiz mentioned that negligent corporations have long been ignoring the wellness pitfalls of asbestos exposure poised among their workers for a long time. Based on the findings of EHP, a large scale of unreported mesothelioma occurred in countries that use asbestos at substantial levels. On the other hand, these countries failed to report cases of the disease. Researchers found that massive production and usage of asbestos in these 89 countries totaled in excess of 65 million metric tons from year 1920 through 1970, accounting for more than 82 percent of the global population in the year 2000.
