Brussels Griffon

This is a small Belgium dog which is just 7 to 8 inches tall and weighs around 6 to 12 pounds. It comes in two varieties, rough hair and smooth hair. Brussels Griffon has ample hair hence you will need to brush its coat to prevent matting and also to remove debris. It enjoys playing indoors, and is always ready for short walks.

Chihuahua

The Mexican breed is a toy dog that stands between 6 to 9 inches and weighs less than 6 pounds. This is an indoor pet that feels uncomfortable when kept outside for extended log periods. However, the Chihuahua enjoys playing in the garden and going for short walks.

Fox Terrier

This cute little dog is the best family pet. It is one of the most playful and energetic dog breeds. It loves playing with kids and if there are other pets in the home, it will chase them, especially when there are small like cats. This particular breed is known to take the dominate role if there are other dogs at home. It is intelligent and responds well to orders.

Greyhound

It is an Egyptian breed that was originally associated with aristocracy and high class citizenship. It is truly a gentle giant that is great especially with kids. Since this breed was used for hunting, the Greyhound has a natural instinct to chase anything smaller.

English Bulldog or British Bulldog

Owned by British royals, it is the one of the most expensive dog breeds in the world. This is a very popular pet in the United States. Also it is considered a symbol of masculinity and tenacity by many men who own it.

Labrador Retriever

It is the most popular dogs in the world according to the American Kennel Club because of their friendly demeanor. If you are looking for a dog that is great with kids and works as a great solo companion as well, then Labrador Retriever is the best choice.

There are many dog breeds with each breed having its special characteristics. Before adopting a puppy make sure that it is healthy. Usually puppies above seven weeks of age are healthy enough to adopt. Choose a breed according to your requirement and family size.
