Air Source Heat Pump are very efficient in utilizing the free latent energy within the air, to create heat for under floor heating or low temperature radiators. The outside air contains energy, even in low temperatures, which can be harnessed to create free sustainable energy to heat the home. It is a clean and sustainable heating solution which provides an ideal solution for houses without a gas supply. It also reduces CO2 emissions.
Air Source device takes heat from the outside air during the heating season and dump heat during the winter cooling season.. Air- to- water pumps are rare and sometimes they do not provide cooling. Air Source can be either Add- On which are designed to be used with another source of supplementary heat, All- Electric which uses its own supplementary heating system or Bi- Valent which uses a gas or propane- fired burner.
Working Procedure Of Heat pump:
An air source works in the same process of a common refrigerator but in reverse.
The Process-
Step 1 The Evaporator: It collects heat from the outside air which is already warm by the sun. The fan draws the air in to the unit. Liquid refrigerant which passes through the evaporator is at a considerably lower temperature than the Solar photovoltaic air. The air gives up its heat to the refrigerant and it vaporizes.
Step 2 The Compressor: The pre- heated vapour passes through the compressor. In compressor it is compressed and upgraded to a much higher temperature and pressure.
Step 3 The Condenser: The hot vapour, created by the compressor, is now enters the condenser where it is surrounded by water from the heating system, causing the heat to be given up to the cooler water. After that the cooer refrigerant returns to its former liquid state. But it remains under high pressure from the compressor.
The Expansion Device: the refrigerant is further cooled and pressure reduced by passing the liquid through the expansion device. From there it returns to the evaporator to repeat the cycle.
Air Source Heat Pump reduces heating and cooling costs substantially.
