It is true that fish tank gives serenity to the environment and calm feeling to the eye. But to have this nice output, fish tank should be designed with an utmost care. If you are planning to have a tropical fish tank or you are already an owner of a tropical fish tank, following facts would be ideal for you. If you are beginner then it is good to start from a tropical fish tank as it’s cost is relatively cheap and the fish are strong.

Some of the tropical pet fish species are commonly being used are, Ruby Barbs, Mollies, bleeding heart tetras, Dwarf Gouramis, Neon tetras, Paradise Fish, Lecostomus, Ryukin Goldfish and Swordtails. But the nature of habitat these tropical fish prefer may change slightly from one type to another. For an example there are different types of Mollies namely sailfin molly, black molly, silver molly and balloon molly and they require the water with small salt concentration. And also some fish are very active and schooling with other fish peacefully while the others not. Therefore, you should be careful to separate such types of harmful fish from the others as they could injure them. Moreover it is important to consider about the size of the fish tank if you are going to put tropical fish like Plecostomus to it. They are type of algae eating fish and also known as “Suckermouth Catfish” or “Pleco”. Since it is a shy fish who always loves to hide and it also grows quite large, Plescos should be put in large tanks.

Sometimes you may face problems in maintaining you tropical fish tank due to some diseases. There are many tropical fish diseases with various symptoms. Some of the commonly seen tropical fish sicknesses are, Fish Lice or Fish Louse, Cotton-Wool Disease, Dropsy or Malawi Bloat, Fin Rot, Swimbladder Disorders and Pop-Eye Disease. Causes for these diseases can be the change of concentration of water, change in water temperature, microbiological infections and even poor diets. Although the tropical fish have hardy lives compared to others it is important to keep an eye on your tropical fish tank to lessen such problems.
