There aren’t many articles pertaining to fishing for Carp outside of Canada or the USA. Many fishermen are actually unaware that if they happen to find themselves in Frace someday, they may not want to leave their fishing gear at home.  Here are some of the best carp fishing locations to seek out when in France.

Lake Gigantica

This lake was actually named Gigantica in order to express how large the carp found here actually are. The lakes owner used to allow a maximum amount of 26 anglers here at any given time to fish for these heavyweights. However, he has recently dropped that maximum number down to only 12. This could mean for some pretty interesting fishing. Lake Gigantica can be found a little over three hours from the city of Calais in a town called St. Christophe Dodinicourt.

Lake Genesis

The second lake on this list worthy of coming in second to Lake Gigantica is Lake Genesis. There is over two tons of carp that live in this lake making it a perfect vacationing spot if you happen to want to slip in a little fishing. Not only will you be able to catch as many carp as you want, but you may also reel in a few mirrors, koi and commons as well. The fish found here range in weight from 13 pounds to as many as 25. Do not miss an experience fishing this lake if you are in the area.

Ribiere

To look at this lake, you might be surprised to learn that it was previously nothing but a pit of gravel. Now, Lake Riviere is anywhere from 6 to 1.5 meters deep. The pegs located here are all wide enough to provide more than enough room for as many as four anglers at a time which is perfect because no one will want to miss out on the carp here as they can reach up to 50 pounds. There is also a decent population of catfish found here as well.

Lac les Pins

This lake is extremely gorgeous, framed by stunning pine trees. Losing any depth is not an issue here as the lake is fed by a stream. Plenty of natural prey and food sources are found in this lake as well making for some well fed commons, mirrors and carp ranging from 20 to 50 pounds in weight. The lake has a total of 9 swims on it that anglers can reach from any side, however, only as many as 6 fishermen are allowed at one time.
