Learning a new language such as French can help your child greatly and so should be taken seriously and thought about in great detail. Having a French school collaboration scheme such as a French tour is a great idea with many benefits.
If you are learning the French
language, then by far the best way to learn is through French
tours to French speaking schools. Your school can set up such a
partnership and benefit from the great features that it will
entail.
Speaking French is a fine skill that
any child should be glad to have. The French language is after all
part of the origin of the English language, with influence stemming
back over the last thousand years.
Due to this fact,
French language
learning is quite possibly one of the
easiest language learning experiences for a native English speaker.
Benefits
The benefits of speaking French are
great and far reaching. They can include, for example, the use of
French in the workplace. You don’t need to be an interpreter to use
French at work, translating French to English and so on. You may need
to speak French in a business environment, such as communicating with
overseas partners of your company, or finalising deals with a French
speaking associate.
These skills will allow you or your
child to climb the corporate ladder far more quickly than they might
without the use of a foreign language such as French.
French
uses
Other uses of French in adult life
include being able to speak freely in France or a French speaking
country when on holiday or living in a second home. This is
particularly important if they choose to live in a secluded village
where it is less likely that locals will speak English. They will be
able to easily order foods in restaurants, purchase goods in shops,
and speak to locals as if they were one of them. This is important
when living in a second home abroad, as you will feel very alone even
in a busy city if you cannot speak the language and there are no
other English speakers nearby.
Another great reason to speak French
when young is to be able to watch a wider range of films and TV
shows, as well as reading online blogs written in French. If you
think back to the times when you have watched a French language film
and had to read the subtitles the whole time in order to understand
the meaning, this would not have happened if you were adept in
speaking French through any
French language
programme. Following a film can be
difficult the first time round even if it is in your native language,
but having to read subtitles can take away from the experience and
your understanding of the film.
With all these points in mind to
consider, it is surely best to make sure your children are able to
speak another language such as French. This is helped greatly in the
schooling environment and so should be taken seriously at all times.
