The BT Dongle simply plugs into your laptop via the USB port so is light enough to carry around with you. It doesn’t take up much room either. There is a small one off fee when you take out the offer so you don’t have to submit to a monthly contract as its on a pay as you go basis. All you do is top up your account with extra data whenever you are close to running out so you don’t need to carry on using it if you don’t want to or you no longer need it for a certain month for example. This gives you brilliant flexibility and value for money. You can manage your account online so you know how much you are using and never run out. There are often also offers on where you are given a small amount of usage for free when you sign up, so you can try out the service before you pay for extra usage.

The coverage can vary in certain areas so you should always check before you buy. You can do this via their website, as they run on the Vodafone network which generally has good network coverage so there shouldn’t be any problems. If you are travelling on the underground, or to a remote country location, then you may experience slow or a non existent internet connection so you need to bear this in mind. Wherever there is a mobile phone signal, you should be able to receive broadband.

There are many BT FON networks around the UK and around the world, which you can connect to for a free unlimited wi fi service. There are more than 2 million of these internationally so chances are wherever you are, there should be one near by. The networks are safe and secure, and easy to log onto so you shouldn’t get too many problems. There are also 4000 BT Openzone connections in various public establishments across the country such as cafes, restaurants and hotels. There are apps available for the iPhone and Android interfaces so you can log on automatically via your mobile phone too.

When signing up for the BT Dongle for your laptop, make sure you read all the small print before deciding if it is definitely for you. If you do use the internet a lot or are playing a lot of games or downloading files then it may be cheaper and more worthwhile to go for a different broadband package where you’ll get more for your money.
