What is a suspended ceiling, you ask? A suspended ceiling is a secondary, or 'dropped', ceiling that is suspended from an original ceiling by a grid of t-shaped metal supports; with the help of some heavy duty wire. To fill in the gaps made by the grid, 2x2ft (or 2x4ft) suspended ceiling panels are slotted into place to create a complete 'false' ceiling.
Banish Those Sins!
Most industrial and commercial buildings have a large amount of exposed structural work that is incredibly ugly to look at and very unsafe to work under in an office environment. Apparatus like air ducts, pipes, wires and plumbing work can decrease the attractiveness of your premises and cause concerns for the health and safety of your visitors and employees.
A suspended ceiling will hide all of these blemishes and make your room look attractive, modern and completely safe for your staff and guests to use. All of the components of a suspended ceiling are highly customisable so you can choose the materials you want to use in your space to suit your personal style or business branding, with suspended ceiling panels and grids available in various different colours and materials including wood, metal and synthetic. You can also purchase recessed commercial lighting that slots into the grid system, where a ceiling panel would usually go, to ensure your room is well lit.
Hygiene & Soundproofing
Another great benefit to a suspended ceiling system is the soundproofing benefits that you can achieve by using sound-resistant ceiling panels; this allows for improved sound quality within the room whilst reducing the disturbance to surrounding rooms. You can also install micro-organism resistant ceiling panels for areas that require high standards of hygiene such as kitchens and science laboratories. These tiles are specially treated to stop any organisms growing on the tiles and spreading any viruses.
