Companies all across the world have long been seeking ISO certification to demonstrate the effectiveness of their systems and products.
Companies all across the world have long been seeking ISO certification to demonstrate the effectiveness of their systems and products. A global sign of quality and achieved standards increasingly recognised by customers and partners, there is certification available for system processes, health and safety management approach, environmental responsibilities and more.

As will come as no surprise, being awarded the seal is not an overnight success; far from it. Many hours of work and commitment is required across the board in a classic top down approach. Thorough analysis will often reveal areas which need addressing too, requiring a good deal more effort to be invested.

Such is the time and cost expense that achieving certification incurs a company, there are those that have suggested it is not cost effective. However, much the opposite is true. Through the process for example, areas which are found to be lacking are commonly thereby found to be producing waste; representing very real savings when a solution is found.

Further than this, with growing recognition and, growing expectation, of having certified processes and procedures in place from a customer perspective, business continuity can be improved and assured. The benefits go further still than this too; as staff are empowered to perform, whilst ongoing improvement increases productivity.

By adhering to ISO management standards, companies often find that meeting local, national and international obligations is easier too. With much of this legislation shadowing the standards recommended and agreed by ISO strategy, this can also represent significant cost savings at the final reckoning.

Having an understanding of what is involved in the journey to full certification is important of course. It is here that the expertise that we at DNV instil in a partner organisation can really show. From a project’s inception, to its sign off, and onto verification we are helping companies meet and exceed their missions across the UK.
