When you have decided to plant the flower garden for your home, the first and the foremost thing you should do is to inspect the garden area. See whether you have sufficient space in your backyards for your garden. You can select the appropriate design for your garden that will suit your landscape. Draw the rough sketch of the garden design according to the available sketch. Make sure that you keep sufficient space for walking while designing your flower garden.

If you don’t have enough space in your backyards for planting a garden, you can plant the garden in your balcony in pots or containers. Use the fertile soil containing all the necessary nutrients for plant growth, add fertilizer or organic compost and sow the seeds or readymade plants in the soil.

If you have sufficient area in your yard, you can continue reading further. When you have designed the garden on paper, it is time to get ready for actual gardening. Inspect the garden area. Remove all the weeds and from the area and make it completely clean. You can do this either by removing the weeds with your hand or using the herbicides to kill the weeds.

Dig the soil about 15-18 inches and make it spongy to enhance the root penetration and proper growth of plants. Add natural mulch and organic compost in the soil. Mulching will prevent the further growth of weeds in your garden area and compost will increase the nutrient contents in the soil.

Now your soil is ready for growing flowers. You can select the flower plants that grow well in your area’s climatic conditions. Visit the nurseries and know what type of flower plants are suitable for growing in your area. Select the plants accordingly and plant them in your garden. You can select the plants with variety of colors so that your home garden looks beautiful after blooming of all flowers. Select the flower plants with similar water and food requirements.

Remove the dead branches and leaves from the plant. It is necessary for the proper growth of plant or it will resist the growth. Pluck the flower when they bloom completely and do not keep them on plant after blooming.
