Impaired driving, theft and assault are three of the common criminal offences in Canada that can cause a huge loss to life and property. All three are discussed below in detail.
As per the latest Canadian statistics, it is very clear that there is a rapid increase in the number of criminal offences. Three of the most common offences include impaired driving, theft and assault. Individuals caught in any of these cases require a powerful defence in the court of law that is not possible without the support of an experienced criminal lawyer.

Let us discuss about these offences in detail:

Impaired driving

Impaired driving is defined as the act of driving a car, truck, train or any other vehicle by a person when the ability to drive the vehicle is impaired by alcohol or other drugs. It is a serious criminal offence these days. Many individuals are caught driving while they are drunk. This crime is very common among youth. If the alcohol content in the blood of a person is over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, he or she exceeds the legal limit. A person's blood alcohol content over the legal limit means he or she is actually impaired by alcohol and can be convicted of impaired driving.  Judge can impose various penalties on charged individuals that might include heavy fines, 14 or even 90 days in prison. For repeat offenders, penalties are more severe.

Theft

Theft is another common offence in Canada that involves illegitimate taking of another person's property without that person's permission. It can be of many types. Some of the common ones include burglary, looting, robbery, shoplifting, fraud, embezzlement, larceny, mugging, etc. Individuals accused of these cases have to face heavy fines and sometimes short-term or long-term imprisonment also depending upon the nature of crime committed.

Assault

Assault cases are of different types. Some of the common ones include simple assault, aggravated assault, indecent assault, sexual assault and battery. Individuals caught in any of these cases require support of an experienced criminal lawyer.

These are three of the common offences in Canada. If you are charged with any of these criminal offences, you need to hire an experienced criminal lawyer who can provide you with a powerful representation in the court of law.
