Management Training and Leadership Training – Finding Your Effective Behaviour

There are several forms of common management training and leadership training module available to the UK companies. Each has its own benefit – from cost effectiveness and across the board applicability (as in the case of conference or seminar style training events, which tend to be held at conference centres or hired venues), to the ability to relate specific managerial and leadership behaviours to the operation of a single company.

Company specific management training or leadership training, as it is known, has several key benefits that make it ideal for companies with a specific agenda – usually a perceived business threat or a changing business environment, which needs addressing in a new and successful way.

The company specific training scheme, otherwise known as an “in company” training event, is run for delegates from one company only, at a location of their choice and at a date and time convenient for them. Clearly, in the case of instances where a company feels its business is being threatened by a change in market dynamics, an in company event management training or leadership training event is ideal, as it can be booked to happen at a time most suitable for the company’s delegates. They can, on other words, react quickly to the threat and put measures in place to re-order their current behaviours.

Be aware, too, that in company events can be held at your own place of business – thus eliminating all sorts of costly extras normally associated with training events – overnight stays, travel expenses, meals and multiple days away from the office.

Naturally, the major overriding benefit of in company management training and leadership training is its bespoke nature. Traditionally, a company will approach a training services provider with a brief, which will encapsulate the needs the company has for management and behavioural training. The training services provider is then able to draw up a unique and involving training event according to the outlines given by the purchasing company – usually to create something requiring dynamic action, thinking on your feet, thinking outside your comfort zone.

Bespoke in company training events do not necessarily need to cost a great deal more than multi company training days. The only extra costs incurred when booking an in company management training or leadership training event lie in the time taken to consult over the individual needs of the company making the booking. Everything else, operating costs and staffing, are broadly the same – though where an event is hosted on a company’s own premises, travel expenses for the event runners will be factored in too.
