Facebook? You're probably not alone.
Fearing for their privacy or maybe just
bored with the use of the site, 100,000 Britons have deactivated their account
last month.
Facebook and fatigue seems to be
contagious. Six million connected for good in the U.S. too, the figures show.
Worldwide, the growth rate slowed for a
second consecutive month - and as it seeks to achieve its goal of one billion
active users, Facebook has to rely on developing countries to increase its
workforce.
The figures suggest that there may
be'natural limit "for the saturation of Facebook.
There is even speculation on the blogs, as
they feared for his only rival MySpace, the site could one day "spray into
oblivion."
Earlier this year, the leaders announced
that the number of Facebook accounts held in the UK reached 30 million,
representing about half of the population.
The stage was an increase of four million
and last July was the highest saturation of any country in Europe.
But times change - and last month more than
100,000 in the UK stopped using the site, the figures show.
United States, the number of users
increased from 149.4 million to 155 .2 million in May in Canada, there was also
a fall of about 1.5 million users, while numbers Russia and Norway have also
fallen by over 100,000 users.
It's not all bad news for the site.
Worldwide, Facebook is still growing and has nearly 600 million users, thanks
to strong growth in countries like Mexico and Brazil.
According to Eric Eldon, Inside Facebook
site, which obtained the figures through the analysis tools of advertising in
society, there is a point where the site can no longer grow once it has
established in countries.
"As Facebook is about 50 percent of
the total population in a given country, the growth generally slows to a halt, “he
said.
