For example if it gets out that the money that has been funding your business has come from illegitimate sources they will become reluctant to buy from you. Word of mouth spreads quickly and so before you know it you could really find your sales plummeting.

Rather than let this be a worry to you, why not do something about it. Due diligence is to do with carrying out the checks that you need to do in order to keep your business as safe as possible. There are several checks that you can carry out in order to protect your business, however you will probably need someone to do this for you.

Thankfully for people in your position there are companies out there with the tools and expertise to be able to carry out these checks for you. They know what to look out for and the best ways to carry out the checks. They can then give you the information you need in order to know whether you should work with a person/company or not. You only have to Google for due diligence to be able to find companies that are in a position to help you.
