Green tea

What is green tea?  Green tea is a type of tea that is originally from the Far East. Green tea comes from a plant called Camellia sinensis. This plant also produces other types of tea including black, oolong and white tea. The main difference between these teas comes from the oxidation process. Green tea can either come as it is, or sometimes it comes infused with other flavours, such as mangos, peaches and mint.  Are there any health benefits to green tea?  There are numerous claims to the wide range of health benefits that can occur from regularly drinking green tea. Many of these have been scientifically proven, although not all of them. Some of the benefits include the prevention of heart disease, cancer, dental cavities, kidney stones, and improved bone density and brain function.  What is the history of green tea?  Green tea has been consumed in China for over 400 years. It has been used as a beverage as well as a medicine throughout Eastern Asia. The benefits of green tea have been well documented throughout the Far East and here in the Western Hemisphere we are beginning to realize the benfits of this delicious hot beverage.  Where is a good place to buy green tea?  Obviously you can now buy green tea from almost any grocery shop or supermarket throughout the country. However if you want the really good stuff, then you are probably better off buying it from a specialist tea company. There are quite a few good tea companies that can be recommended, however it is probably a good a idea for you to do your own research and see who seems the most knowledgeable with the widest variety of tea products at fair prices.
