We have all heard about No Win No Fee compensation claims. They now seemingly dominate the legal market, a view held simply due to the fact that so much time and money goes into promoting such approaches through the mainstream media. But how exactly does such an approach work?

Well, it works exactly as it sounds – if you do not win your claim, you do not have to pay a penny. This may sound like it is too good to be true, but there is slightly more to it than you see on the surface. After all, no solicitor is going to want to spend a huge amount of their time on something that is unlikely to offer them any financial remuneration. Therefore, the No Win No Fee cases that the majority of solicitors take on will be ones in which the claimant is almost certain to win.

This may seem somewhat cynical, but many people who have a valid compensation claim might have previously not bothered to do anything about it for fear of how much court proceedings might cost them. Therefore, huge amounts of money were being lost simply due to fear. Today though, it is easier than ever to be sure that a solicitor really will be looking out for your best interest. Gone are the days when opportunistic sharks would tell you had a very good case and see you owe them huge amounts of money even after the case was lost.

Today, those solicitors who will only take a fee in the event of a successful compensation claim are always going to be extremely honest about your chances of winning, not only removing any worry about whether or not you will be left out of pocket, but also simply helping you decide whether or not you should put your time and energy into making such a claim.

So, whilst it may seem cynical, in reality such an approach is one where everyone is likely to be a winner. Well, apart from those who have wronged you in the first place, perhaps.
