As far as professional cubicle systems go, glass is quickly becoming the preferred material of choice for hotels, fitness clubs, offices or any facility that wants to convey an air of premium quality while not necessarily footing a huge bill.
As far as professional cubicle systems go, glass is quickly becoming the preferred material of choice for hotels, fitness clubs, offices or any facility that wants to convey an air of premium quality while not necessarily footing a huge bill.

Glass lends an ineffable, sleek quality to the style of any establishment and the toughened panels can be set alongside specially engineered anodised aluminium fittings to give the cubicles a uniform and reflective sheen. At the moment, this type of cubicle is associated with what you would find in upper market establishments, but this is not to suggest that it will break your budget.

Their are a variety of types of glass you can choose between. Toughened float or textured cast glass when used in shower cubicles can be translucent, but unlike some materials should not turn transparent when introduced to water. Translucent materials can also have a coloured tint applied to them. Alternatively, you can opt for an opaque ceramic paint finish in a colour of your choosing. Toughened and laminated float glass is available in opaque, translucent and white finishes. For all types of glass, the opaque finish is best deployed for washroom cubicles and changing facilities.

Laminate cubicle systems are typically less reflective but offer a classic, often more solid looking design. This type of cubicle is best known for its durability in the face of extensive cleaning and the possibility of vandalism and is typically the material of choice for public washroom cubicles. The panelling used is usually compact grade laminate which can either be suspended or full size and used in either a full frame or frameless design.

As a general rule laminate cubicles require less maintenance than their glass counterparts. For each cubicle you should be able to choose between compact laminate, glass, or solid surfacing materials for either the panels, doors, or both.
