Born in then Lancashire, now Greater
Manchester, to an English father and mother of Northern Irish
descent, Kay is the English funnyman with all signs of a complete
jester. The Bolton boy is here to stay with his funny jokes and humor
that may have no sense, but has been sensibly put up.
Peter Kay loves to and excels in what
he is supposed and entitled to do-entertain masses. He’s been
everywhere, from television shows to movies, onstage, released his
own stand-up DVDs and even lent his exceptional voice to cartoon
characters.
Kay has had a film career that spanned
almost for a decade. His appearances in movies include ‘Going Off
Big Time’, ’24 Hour Party People’, ‘The League of Gentlemen's
Apocalypse’, and ‘Roddy Smythe Investigates’. The funnyman has
done voiceovers for ‘Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the
Were-Rabbit’ as PC McIntosh and for ‘Roary the Racing Car’ as
the main character of Big Chris.
Peter Kay’s television works include
Coronation Street, the most popular-That Peter Kay Thing, Linda
Green, Britain's Got the Pop Factor... and Doctor Who - Love &
Monsters among many others.
The humorist has been even flashed his
extreme talents in form of hit singles like Sleep, The Winner’s
Song, along with the popular I Know Him So Well with his female
counterpart Susan Boyle.
Apart from all these and taking time
from his ever-busy schedule, Kay has managed to write out his life
experiences in what is called as his ‘autobiographies’. He’s
released two of his books until now titled as ‘The Sound of
Laughter’ and ‘Saturday Night Peter’. Kay even claims that his
third hardcover is in the making. Peter Kay fans should keep an eye
out for that.
During his entertainment career, which
spans for over 10 years, Kay has been awarded and conferred with
prestigious titles by the industry to which he belongs to. The
funnyman is listed as one of the 50 Funniest British comedians, named
as the Comedian’s Comedian, voted as 100 Great Funny moments for
one of his acts and noted as simply the best comedian in the Happy
List of 2009.
Peter Kay fans who’ve
