Rubber chippings

Rubber chippings are made up of pieces of various rubber parts e.g. car tyres which are fully washed and screened to produce high quality rubber chippings that can be used within equestrian arenas or even playgrounds.

What is so special about rubber chippings?

Rubber chippings are fantastic to use as a floor covering for various reasons, including:

    * Does not absorb liquid
    * Will not freeze
    * Won’t attract animals and insects
    * Resists compaction
    * Will not rot or blow away

These are all ideal characteristics for a floor surface as the rubber chippings will withstand all English weather allowing a greater lifespan, will stay within the arena giving as they are heavy enough to not be blown away also meaning a longer life expectancy of your flooring and as the rubber chippings can resist compaction this means that no matter how many times a horse gallops on the surface the flooring will still ‘bounce back’ and will therefore be again able to last for a longer period of time.

Not just one type of rubber chipping

Although you may think that all rubber chippings are exactly the same their can be slight differences in their origin, providing different surface types.

Rubberrads are rubber chippings that are created from car tyres, these can be the most cost effective solution to your rubber chipping needs as these are made from the main source of rubber made in the UK.

Rubbertrax are rubber chippings that are created from cross-ply tyres and conveying belting. These rubber chippings are larger and can give a fuller ‘bounce back’ feeling.

The third type of rubber chipping available is rubberseals which is made up of synthetic rubber shred from window and door seals and other types of synthetic rubber. This is the softest rubber that is available in various sizes and it can provide a stable surface for various uses.
