Management comes in many areas with different skill sets attached to each.  Whilst working on-the-job will always enhance management, there are skills and techniques that can be taught through studying courses.

Many colleges, institutes, on-line schools and universities will offer assistance in your studies and you should therefore be careful that you choose the correct course. Qualifications can be very basic and then be graduated as you progress through your career. Each qualification will have a specific theme and you can thus tailor your studies to what best suits you in career path.

Qualifications.

These will not only vary in accordance with the course you choose but will also vary according to the country you are in, as well as the examining body.  The most common areas of study will be managing yourself and others, Leadership, Managing Finances, Managing Projects and Business Processes, Planning and implementing change and Leading Change. This is by no means an exclusive list of course or topics that area available, but certainly indicates the flavour of the studies.  

Managing People.
Managing people is a skill in itself and if you are able to do this successfully then you will reward yourself, your fellow employees and your company.  However there are skills that you need to be taught in this area as well as legislation that needs to be understood. A management apprenticeship course will assist you in this.

Change Management.

If you are able to master management of people then change management will be a somewhat easier process.  Change will nearly always encounter resistance from people as it involves a sense of insecurity. The way in which this is handled will be beneficial to all involved and training through the correct course will be of immense value.

Finance Management.

It is essential for all those who wish to progress their careers to have a sense of how money make a business tick and thus a n overview of money management will help you career grow.

The techniques of management and the development of your skills can be advanced by attending the correct training course.
