Are you unwillingly poisoning your cat to death by given her the wrong food? Are you one of those many unaware cat owners who do not know what is the best cat food?

With more and more food options for cats available in market, it is becoming more confusing and difficult to select the best food for your cat. Obviously you want the best cat food for your cat - but how can you be so sure with so many brands around you that which one is really effective? Many of these mass produced commercial cat foods are packed with filler additives and other ingredients that at best are nutritionally worthless for your pet - and at worst, harmful for your cat's health.

So the question remains the same: What is the best cat food? Well the answer is a food that meets your individual cat's nutritional requirements and contains no useless fillers and harmful additives.

Understanding your cat's nutritional needs

Generally, every cat will need the right amount of essential amino acids, proteins, minerals and vitamins, and water. So in order to figure whether quality will really have an effect, look into the product's components and ingredients. Determine how much other components and proteins it contains. Also, pay attention to whether you get more of the components of essential nutrients with every increased gram in the pack. This is one of your gauges to help your decide more efficiently in favor of your cat's health. The more you are feeding your pet in the smaller amount of cat food means that you are providing additional nourishment to your adored pet.

Canned or Dry Food?

Each of these two types of food provides a different experience to your cat. Canned food contains more water than kibble can or dry food. When you are feeding your pet with more kibble or dry food, make sure you are keeping them well hydrated by providing them water.

Dry foods are easy to feed and can be served anywhere while canned foods have to be placed in a proper clean bowl. Even the amount of food will differ between dry and canned food as canned food already contains water and can be a heavier source of diet for your cat. This means that it is better if you provide a smaller amount of wet food to your cat to avoid over eating.

The Natural Cat Food

There are natural cat foods that provide the required vitamins, proteins and other nutrients which your cat needs to stay healthy. You can also make your own natural, healthy cat food at home to give a new taste and texture to your cat. Using pure ingredients like chicken, ground beef, lamb, small amounts of veggies and natural flavorings and additives like garlic powder, brewers yeast and kelp, you can manage to make delicious and healthy cat food for your cat. While other ingredients like raw eggs, pork, fish and onions are a definite no-no for your cat.

The best cat food therefore is the food that is rich with nutrients. Buying or preparing quality products for them is essential. Feed your fluffy friend with the food you believe is the best for your pet's health.
