This article talks about wireless home theater systems and why they're the future of entertainment

A wireless home theater system refers to an instrument that brings great home entertainment experience in addition to doing it without the aid of wires. The main problem with most home theatres is that they are all wired up and difficult to install. The wireless setup is wire-free and can be moved about easily and is also easy to install.

The wireless home theater system is not completely wire free; it transmits a signal to the speaker which has a built in receiver. However, the speaker requires additional power and this is transmitted to it by wires attached to a power output. The speakers can also be battery powered. Hence, these speakers would have additional wires connecting them to an AC power source.

The main advantage of a wireless home theater is that it provides sheer aesthetic value for money. It does not have wires running from speaker to speaker, from one corner of the room to another; it is a much simpler system which consumes lesser electricity than a wired system. It does not require installation of multiple plug points and running wires through the ceiling or inside walls. You would also not find the need to wrestle the wires and cables every time you intended to vacuum or dust the place.

Most home theater systems normally include a subwoofer, an amplifier, three front speakers and two surround speakers and a DVD player as well. There is no physical connection between any of these components, they transmitter transmits signals which are received by the receivers installed in the speakers.

Sony, Panasonic, Yamaha, Denon and Kenwood are the big names in the wireless home theater system manufacturers. There are many systems available in the market and they can be installed easily, without the help of an electrician. They are generally easy to use as well.

The great thing about this system is that the speakers can be installed far away from the amplifier as they have a range of nearly 300 feet. But, it is recommended that wireless speakers are not installed to close to other wireless speakers, like a cordless phone to avoid static.

Wireless home theater systems bear a relatively cheap price tag. Kenwood recently launched the HTB-S620DV system, which has the same features as their wired models, including Dolby Digital EX support and DTS sound support. This was priced at $600 only.

The wireless home theater is still a growing product. New products are being introduced on a continual basis. Wireless systems will soon replace the conventional wired system as technology continues to evolve.
