New Season Jewellery Trends to Watch Out For

Some say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Although they certainly are beautiful, they can be taken for granted if worn every day. Plus, they don’t make you stand out or particularly alter your outfit in any way, and that’s what jewellery should do. It is worn as an adornment to enhance your appearance, and so it can be better to wear different items of costume jewellery every day and save those diamonds for special occasions.

This season, jewellery style is all about old-fashioned glamour, favouring black and gold, as well as rich colours like plum and burgundy. Headpieces are still in fashion, including fascinators and Alice bands featuring large sequinned motifs. Fabric flowers also add a vintage touch, particularly on the outside of a clutch bag.

Costume jewellery fashions from Europe for the upcoming season all feature large statement pieces and favour all-metal designs. To adapt this for our approaching summer season, gold chain link necklaces and bracelets are a popular choice, as they make a statement without being too heavy, as wearing too much jewellery during the summer can make you too hot.

European designers are also favouring square bangles at the moment, which will work in any season and are likely to be around for a while to come, so invest in a few in different colours to jazz up any look no matter what the weather. A great look is to combine multiple bracelets (particularly great while it’s bare arm season!) of differing thicknesses, styles and textures. Obviously, if you have a particularly hands on job, this may not be the most practical of style tips to follow, so always find something that works for you. Jewellery is one of the best additions you can make to an outfit, but will only work if you look and feel comfortable in it.
