Many good soldiers have been lost on the battlefield due to the lack of effective body armour clothing. Back at home, we may take it for granted that those serving in war torn regions will be automatically given all the armour and equipment they need to keep them safe.
Many good soldiers have been lost on the battlefield due to the lack of effective body armour clothing. Back at home, we may take it for granted that those serving in war torn regions will be automatically given all the armour and equipment they need to keep them safe. However, in reality, people from many different countries, including our own, are dying every day simply due to a lack of the right body armour clothing.

However, whilst there is very little that we can do as individuals to help change the priorities of those in charge of such army expenditure, there are many other people who can benefit from such tactical equipment that we can help.

From those offering aid to refugees to those involved in special charities in more dangerous areas of the world, almost any civilian heading out into a war-torn region can benefit from the right protective clothing and armour. Whilst we instantly assume that only soldiers will need such protection due to their active involvement in combat, anyone from charity workers to envoys can easily get caught in crossfire or simply end up becoming collateral damage.

The cost of such armour and tactical equipment may seem high to those in charge of deploying such personnel, but the cost of not providing such protective gear is likely to be even higher, whether that is in terms of the money to be paid to those receiving serious injuries or whether that is the cost of a life itself.

The expenditure of the Ministry of Defence has come under staunch criticism in the last few years due to its spending priorities, and any company sending personnel to a dangerous areas or to undertake dangerous work should be held to the same scrutiny, whether they are a publicly funded body or not.
