Handbags gifted to stars as Emmy freebies

Celebrities are often handed freebies by companies. This can provide firms with great exposure, helping to boost demand for their items. Following this principle, a number of companies recently handed out presents to the stars ahead of this month's Emmy Awards.

According to a report in the Boston Globe, a variety of offerings were provided and handbags were among them. It did not reveal whether the fashion items were clutch bags, cross body bags or any other type of design.

Prior to the event, actors were gifted a range of offerings, including notebook computers, designer sunglasses, watches, vitamins and much more. Meanwhile, L'Oreal provided a mini spa area, where free manicures, makeovers, hairdos and hot shaves were given.

Also, those wanting to quench their thirst could make the most of a range of cocktails inspired by HBO shows including True Blood and Broadwalk Empire.

For any parents who were taking part in the pre-awards events, there were high-end baby strollers up for grabs. Among the more unusual presents awarded were trainers made from recycled plastic water bottles. These may have been perfect for the eco-friendly celebrities involved.

Meanwhile, the Boston Globe did not reveal who picked up the bags, potentially including the clutch bags and cross body bags.

The awards focus on American television and are often considered to be the equivalent of the Academy Awards for film and the Grammy Awards for music. Among those to triumph this year was Kate Winslet, who gave an excitable acceptance speech after being handed the gong for her role in mini-series Mildred Pierce. Her co-star Guy Pearce also picked up an award and the pair posed together for photographs afterwards.

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards took place on September18th and were aired live on FOX Television from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
