The Logitech Company makes a great line of computer accessories including keyboards, mice, and speaker systems.   The Logitech X-230 Speaker System includes stereo speakers with an active subwoofer. These speakers are highly rated by consumers. The average user rating on the CNet website is 4 out of a possible 5 stars. When I have a choice of vendors for a product, I always choose Logitech.  They make the coolest stuff, their designs are great, the products are well built, and their equipment stands up to my constant use.  I do not own a set of the Logitech X-230 speakers but I am sure that the quality and functionality are top notch.

The Logitech X-230 speaker system is easy to install.  The Logitech X-230 speaker system includes a sub woofer, which means there are 3 speaker components to the system.  The sub woofer and the left speaker plug into the right speaker.  The right speaker also includes the on off and volume controls.  The power supply for the speaker system comes off the sub woofer.  There is also a power indicator light and a head phone jack on the right speaker.  The sub woofer has a separate volume control on its speaker box.
