Five Reasons You Should Make Recycling Part of Your Life

In Ontario, recycling is becoming a major part of saving the environment, but it could be better.  Over 20 percent of the trash destined for landfills in Ontario was diverted to the recycling bin.  That equates to almost 3 million tonnes of trash! Recycling is so easy to do and brings many advantages with it that there is no excuse not to make it part of your plan. • Recycling protects our natural resources. The main reason we started recycling in the first place was so that we could stop putting such a strain on our natural resources.  The more we can reuse, the less we have to produce and the less we have to take from our planet.
• Waste that isn’t biodegradable has a purpose. Some products take an awfully long time to break down in landfills, but we can cut down on that by simply reusing these products for other purposes.
• Recycling can save you money.
