There’s probably not much more frustrating to a person in a wheelchair
There’s probably not much more frustrating to a person in a wheelchair than not being able to go inside a shop because the building is not equipped to handle their chair. Others with disabilities will also find it frustrating when there are no aids for them, such as stair railings, wide steps, or ramps for their walking frames. Here are some ways that you can make your shop wheelchair and disability accessible for the thousands of people who need these aids.

First, consider putting in a wheelchair / walking frame ramp. This could be for the outside of the shop for customers to access, or it could be inside the shop, especially if you have short sets of steps from one level to another.

Another good way to make your shop more accessible is to use wider doorways for wheelchairs, frames, canes, etc. This way those with disabilities do not need to worry about not being able to get in our out of a doorway without knocking into something.

But most of all you will want a disability lift if you have more than one floor in your shop. All shops with multi levels should have them to make it accessible for those in wheelchairs, those who cannot use stairs, etc.

Here at DDA Lifts we offer a range of the highest quality manufactured wheelchair lifts and disability lifts for  shops, offices, and various other buildings that require them.

We are also happy to advise you on what the best solutions are for your particular building. We offer attention to detail and customer care that cannot be rivalled.

Our solutions include overcoming the access problem so that your shop complies with the Disability Discrimination Act, helping you comply with other regulations, aesthetically pleasing features that blend with the design of the building, and cost effective choices.
