This article talks about why the HP PSC 1510 is a Multifunction device without compromise

The HP PSC 1510 printer is a multifunction device that can also scan and copy documents at amazing qualities. This multifunction printer stands out against competition because it performs other functions well without compromise. The quality of its output is comparable to other standalone devices dedicated only to a single function.

The printing component uses inkjet technology able to produce vivid colors and high-contrast shades of black. Placed side by side with a laser-printed documented, the differences are hard to tell. For monochrome printing, the HP PSC 1510 can deliver up to 20 pages per minute (ppm); in color, it can produce up to 18 ppm of high-quality output. A maximum printing resolution of 1200 by 1200 dots per inch (dpi) can be achieved for monochrome. With colored printing, resolutions can go as high as 4800 by 1200 dpi. The beauty of high-resolution printing is even enhanced further by the imaging technology known as HP PhotoREt III. This printing technology layers multiple droplets of ink on the same surface to produce realistic outputs.

The copying component of the HP PSC 1510 is as powerful as its printer. Standalone copying, that is, without the aid of the personal computer, can still produce up to 20 ppm for monochrome printing and 18 ppm for color printing. Software enhancement is not available though in this printing setup so that maximum monochrome resolution is only up to 600 by 600 dpi. For color printing, on the other hand, a maximum resolution of 4800 by 1200 dpi can still be achieved. Although the monochrome resolution in copying is lower compared to printing, it is still comparable to other dedicated copiers. Combined with the capability of producing 256 grayscale half-tones, better copying quality is achieved.

The copier can also reduce and enlarge documents. Maximum document enlargement is up to 400% while reduction is down to 50%. A major disadvantage of the HP PSC 1510, however, in both its printing and copying components is the inability to automatically print duplex documents, that is, double-sided printing. Users would have to manually reverse the document after a printout so that the other side is printed.

The scanning component of the HP PSC 1510 has an optical resolution of 1200 by 1200 dpi. This rating is more than enough for ordinary document scanning. For scanning detailed photographs, higher resolution is required and the HP PSC 1510 intelligently adapts to that. With the HP Imaging software included in the package, an interpolated resolution of 19200 by 19200 dpi can be achieved.

The HP PSC 1510 is a remarkable multifunction device without compromising components. It is ideal for home and office use.
