Tourism in North India is a unique lifetime experience. India’s capital, Delhi is a prominent destination and gateway for tourism in northern India. Know about popular tourist places in northern region of India.

  Delhi: Delhi is the capital city of India. It is notable for historical, cultural and heritage sites. Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple and National Museum are major tourist sites in this city.  

  Agra: Agra is a beautiful Indian city in Uttar Pradesh state. It is famous for historical and heritage monuments. Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Itmad-Ud-Daullah Tomb, Dayal Bagh and Fatehpur Sikri are must see in the city.

  Jaipur: Rajasthan’s capital, Jaipur is a prominent tourist destination. Famed as the Pink City of India it is famous for magnificent forts and palaces. City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort and Albert Hall Museum are must see in the city.

  Shimla: Shimla, the Queen of Hill Stations, is the capital city of Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The Mall, Jakhoo Hill, the Ridge, Christ Church and Viceregal Lodge are must see attractions in the city.

  Haridwar: Haridwar is a town in Uttarakhand state. It is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site. Mansa Devi Temple and Har Ki Pauri are must see attractions for tourists.

  Rishikesh: Rishikesh is another sacred town in Uttarakhand. It is known for scenic places and religious sites. Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula and Triveni Ghat are must see attractions in the city. Rishikesh is also known for adventure sports.
