The main advantageous fields are communication equipments, computers, household appliances, audio-visual products and basic components, etc. From the current development situation, the Pearl River Delta has formed a product structure focusing on communication and consumer electronic products, and has formed the strong manufacturing advantage and the cluster development characteristic.

Second, the Yangtze River Delta region. Shanghai is the center of the Yangtze River Delta, which is an important electronic information industrial belt. Third, the Bohai Sea area. There is a big difference of the different provinces in Bohai area on the economic conditions, but the provinces, in the electronic information industry, have formed competitive advantages on their own good industrial base, strong scientific research strength, good location and transportation advantage, through the development of appropriate development strategies. A distinctive electronic information industry cluster has been developed here. However, the comprehensive ability here is weaker than that of the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta region. The representative cities and areas are Beijing, Tianjin and Shandong.

Forth, the central and western regions. Central and western regions has been the focus of China's electronic information industry layout. This region has accumulated a solid technical foundation. Overall, the electronic information industry in central and western regions is of huge property of military electronics, with the characteristics of independent research and development and self-contained system. This area is still the main military base now. But the region's industrial chain is in dispersion condition, the cooperation of production is difficult, the total industry scale is small, the overall level of development is relatively backward, so large-scale electronic information industrial belt has not formed.
