Launched
in the United Kingdom in 2003, 3 Mobile has been the first network
service provider to bring a number of technological advancements to
the mobile phone market and has subsequently become one of the most
popular networks in the country. It was the first network to provide
3G and mobile video to customers in the UK, and has also made it
possible for any of its services to be used in Australia, Ireland,
Italy, Hong Kong, Denmark, Austria and Sweden without users incurring
crippling roaming charges. The company is currently notable for
providing its customers with an extremely large range of mobile phone
deals.
The
company's flagship mobile phone deal is known as
The One Plan,
and encompasses everything a customer who can only function through
their mobile phone could possibly want. 2000 minutes and 5000 texts
mean that users will never be unable to contact friends, family or
work, while an unlimited data usage allowance will satisfy even the
heaviest internet user –
streaming video, playing games and social networking can't put a dent
in a limit that doesn't exist. The
One Plan
is ideal for mobile phone users whose previous mobile phone deals
haven't been extensive enough to cover the demands of their social
and work lives. However, with a minimum 24 month contract, customers
won't be able to look around for their next phone deal for a long
time.
As
well as a variety of other contracts, customers who would prefer not
to commit to a contract for a long time can get one of the 3
pay as you go phones.
They can either pay the standard 3 fees or opt for a number of
Add-Ons which cost a set amount and are designed to last for a set
period of time (usually thirty days). For instance, the All-In-One
10, 15 and 25 Add-Ons offer 3000 texts and varying amounts of minutes
and data usage allowances. You can also buy 3000 texts, 500MB of
internet and 3000 3to3 minutes. However, if you still have minutes,
texts or data left at the end of the allotted time, they don't roll
over to the next time you buy an Add-On –
they disappear and you cannot use them. The only draw-back as far as
3 Pay As You Go Phones
are concerned is the fact that you have to pay for the phone handset
when you buy it, as opposed to the 12-24 month contracts that enable
you to pay off the cost of the handset with a set amount every month.
Top-end phone handsets like the Apple iPhone 4S and the HTC Sensation
XL will, therefore, put quite a hole in your wallet.
It's
clear that 3 has many deal options for every type of mobile phone
customer, regardless of how much they use their handset. Given their
past achievements, current money-saving offers and bright future,
it's difficult to consider any other company as your mobile network
service provider.
