It's amazing that a product as effective for killing such a wide range of negative pathogens such as colloidal silver isn't more popular. Colloidal silver is a solution of purified water and fine silver particles that aren't visible to the eye. At least, a quality batch of silver solution should not have any visible particles. It must seem implausible that silver particles and water can kill bacteria, fungus, mold and viruses, but it's true. As a matter of fact, many people have used silver to cure their ailments. People who lived in the Roman Empire used silver in order to heal themselves and to ward off infections. While the people of this time didn't use a water and silver solution, they did use silver coins or other articles made out of pure silver for health purposes.

It was common for people at the turn of the 20th century to place a silver coin at the bottom of their milk bottles, in order to retard spoilage. Since spoilage is caused by bacteria, the silver coin would keep bacteria from multiplying too fast. Silver was commonly used in hospitals and in medical practices, until the the mid 1940s. Why would medical professionals stop using something that was clearly working? The answer came down to cost effectiveness.

Synthetic antibiotics were created by pharmaceuticals. In short, synthetic antibiotics and synthetic anti-fungals were cheaper to produce than creating products that used silver. Hospitals found that since these products were cheaper to produce, they were also cheaper to purchase for their hospital pharmacies. In a very short period of time, synthetic drugs had replaced the use of silver in the medical community. There are generations of people who aren't aware that the use of silver was once very common for healing infections and for disinfecting purposes.

As time marched on, the use of silver is slowly but surely making a comeback. Many people can't afford to purchase medications and they can't afford the doctor's visit to obtain a prescription. This is in part because many people have no health insurance to help with their medical visits. Beyond this, the medical community is beginning to see the results of over-prescribing antibiotics and anti-fungals. In short, these medications aren't working. The pathogens being treated have developed resistance against these drugs. Not only this, but many people find that they suffer nasty side-effects from taking these drugs. Because of these issues, many people find that it's a lot easier to order a bottle of colloidal silver to overcome infections and to prevent infections from taking place.

Colloidal silver renders none of the nasty side-effects that common medications can. It needs no prescription; a customer can simply order it online. The use of colloidal silver kills pathogens on contact. The pathogens never develop a resistance to the silver solution. This solution can be used both internally and externally. Not only can it be used on humans, but it can be used on pets, plants, food products and on many surfaces that need disinfecting.
