Types of eBay Snipers

So you've decided to use an eBay sniper, great choice! As the old saying goes, "If you can't beat them, join them". eBay snipers have become a commonplace tool on eBay due to their advantages of bidding and ease of burden of bidding manually. The next question you should be asking yourself is what type of sniper you should be using to win those auctions.

Home Computer-Based eBay Sniper

This type of sniper runs right on your computer. You install the software on your computer, and the sniper running on your computer does the bids. The advantages of this are many. For one, there is only the cost of buying the software. No monthly fees or future fees to incur. Also, your eBay login and password are stored on your computer known only by you. The downside is that you have to leave your computer on, and usually connected to the internet to bid. With most users on broadband (cable,dsl) this is rarely an issue.

Website-Based eBay Sniper

The other type of sniper runs on a website. The website puts in the bid for you on eBay. The upside to this is that your computer does not have to stay on. The downsides are that there is either a monthly fee, or a per-item fees (1% of winning bid as fee) normally, and that you have to give your login information to the company, as well as update them when you change your password.

There are two big options for what type of sniper. It all depends on how many auctions you will use on it, and what type of internet connection you have that will determine which option is best for you. A majority of users have chosen computer-based snipers for cost reasons. A number of users have chosen the website-based snipers for ease, especially those on dial-up. Which one is right for you?
