In the past UFC fights, there had been fighters who were able to showcase their fighting expertise even in the verge of getting crushed.

Unfortunately, in the case of Brian Geraghty, another mixed martial arts fighter who fell into the hands of defeat, he wasn’t able to demonstrate what he’s all about. In an exclusive interview with BuddyTV, he shared his sentiments about his UFC experience.

After being found suitable for UFC, Geraghty immediately got involved with Ultimate Fighter 5. And with a 24-9-2 status, he became known as a competent and promising fighter of Team Pulver.

Despite his eight years of fighting as an MMA, he fell short of Joe Lauzon’s fighting expertise. Originally, he was supposed to fight Gray and then he was supposed to fight Andy. But after much switching, he ended up fighting Joe, which unfortunately led to his elimination on Ultimate Fighter 5. As for the duel itself, he deemed it as a good match, although Geraghty admitted that his opponent was better than him.

Like many fighters who have been eliminated from UFC, a pinch of regret had engulfed this MMA fighter. Looking back, Geraghty had a better chance of winning had he slowed down his opponent more and focused on taking down his defenses. In addition, Geraghty had seen several of Joe’s previous fights, which he should have taken that advantage to examine his opponent’s moves and worked on his fight strategy.

As for the Corey Hill versus Rob Emerson fight, Geraghty initially rooted for Corey since he was on his team. But after assessing the exchange of blows, his judgment became more inclined to Emerson.

At present, Geraghty continues to enhance his fighting moves by maintaining his training. And although there are no events lined up for him yet, he remains hopeful to be on an undercard fight in the finale.
