Exclusive Interview: Cole Miller, 9th fighter eliminated on The Ultimate Fighter 5

Miller got exposed as a mixed martial artist when he was still in high school. His schoolmate introduced him to MMA training and this immediately got him hooked. He first started training in Georgia
Miller got exposed as a mixed martial artist when he was still in high school. His schoolmate introduced him to MMA training and this immediately got him hooked. He first started training in Georgia, which lasted for two and a half years and then moved to Florida, where he trained at American Top Team. And as a UFC fan, he just tried his luck during audition in Las Vegas and fortunately, he was cast and the rest was history.

As for his fight with Joe Lauzon, Miller’s confidence level soared since he did very well during the evaluations with Joe. He even thought that he had an advantage in firing consecutive submissions even when he was put on the ground. However, Miller’s efforts did not succeed. In addition, his fight with Lauzon badly injured him. He had difficulty to see and even talk.

Nevertheless, Miller thought that he did his best in UFC, and that he showed the public that he had great potential to be part of UFC. And although he was eliminated, he proved to the viewers and his fans that he really did belong to UFC and that he’s someone to watch out for in the future.

As for now, Miller continues with his training and aspires to be one of the best contenders in UFC.

Miller, a 23-year old native of Augusta, Georgia, competed in the featherweight and lightweight divisions as a mixed martial artist. Standing

6 ft 2 inches, he became known for his Praxis Submission fighting style. He trained at the American Top Team academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Ricardo Liborio and Charles McCarthy. He made his featherweight debut in Shooto, being defeated by Shooro World Champion Takeshi Inoue. Prior to becoming a mixed martial artist, he was a baseball player and a member of Team Praxis in Macon, Georgia.
