Roguishly handsome, devilishly charming and quite disarming with that languid southern drawl, Robert Knepper’s Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell on Prison Break will soon be back with even greater vengeance.  T-Bag is arguably one of the creepiest yet most attractive villains on television today.  With Prison Break currently in production for its third season, the actor who plays the sexy sleazebag recently spoke about his escalating madness in the new season.

In his statement at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, Robert Knepper said, “I call the writers and asked, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’  They said, ‘You thought you saw Teddy being a madman before?  You ain’t seen nothin’ yet’,” the Prison Break actor said.

While T-Bag already showed his dark, lecherous and treacherous nature in the first two seasons of the hit drama series, Knepper hinted that none of his past misdeeds come close to his bag of tricks in the upcoming season.

The actor has enjoyed newfound acclaim since being cast in the role.  While he achieved some measure of success in the late `80s with movies like Wild Thing and Made in Heaven, Robert Knepper has struggled lately with his career.  Prison Break came at just the right time, when he was considering becoming a park ranger to support his wife and kid.

“When I first read the script, I thought that they’re never going to cast me because I don’t have tattoos and I was afraid I didn’t look tough enough.  So I grew a goatee and I kept playing with it because I’m not gay, and I was trying to find ways to play him.  So I would look at them like a piece of steak and that would make my mouth water and that’s when my tongue started twirling over the lip. So now they write ‘T-Bag does that thing with his tongue’ — it’s official,” Knepper recalled.

Knepper, who has signed on for seven seasons, further continued, “There’s that old saying, you can never have a good show without a good villain, but I always say it’s just down to good old-fashioned storytelling.  You can’t have a good hero unless every step of the way, somebody’s in his way and especially for the first season, T-Bag was always in Michael’s way.”
